Magic take another beat down, this time from the Celtics 116-83
ORLANDO, FL – It’s been chilly in Orlando lately, but Sunday night, at the Amway Center, it was downright cold for the Magic. The Boston Celtics rolled into town and took advantage of Orlando’s poor defense and struggling offense for a 116-83 beat down.
While Boston, now in the midst of a five game winning streak, managed 13 -point shots, Orlando, could only muster up five. Boston dominated with 28 assists, 8 points in the paint, and dominated the Magic 21-12 in second chance points.
Boston has even known for their defense, and managed to hold Orlando to 36% in field goal percentage, and managed a Sports Center-worthy highlight when Jalen Brown dunked over Mo Bamba.
Yes, this was another rough one.
“Our guys are staying he course, staying together.” Said Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosely “Credit to them, they did a wonderful job with their switching and ability. Marcus smart creates such problems playing as a free safety and picking off passes. Patrick Williams length and ability to switch caused us problems.”
“Your never as good as you are when you win, You’re never as bad as you think you are when you lose, and our guys understand that. We’ll bounce back. Take a look at the film and see where where we work go get better. They’re a tight not group, and they’ll continue to push and gift for one another.”
Jalen Suggs was a bright spot for the Magic, scoring 17 points and assists for Orlando as he continues to grow in his rookie season. Wendell Carter Jr. scored 14 points and nabbed 8 rebounds. Those are the only Magic players in double digit scoring.
Jalen Brown scored 26 points tonight and Dennis Schröder scored 26 points off of the bench against the Magic. Jason Tatum scored 15, points with 9 rebounds, and Al Horford turned in a double-double with 13 points, and 11 rebounds.
The Magic’s second West Coast trip of the season starts Tuesday in Portland, where they will clash with the Trail Blazers at 10 p.m. ET.
